Reason being that his blog got him the first page publicity at TOI. And perhaps even now they are blissfully unaware of what’s happening. Now that the author has removed all his post many won’t be able to recall what was going on there. The things that pain me most are.

1. Any blogs that has TOI page link virtually becomes a battlefield. Whether it is the Pro and Anti reservation people, Muslim and Non Muslim people. Now the latest being the north and south people. Here at highlighted blogs what anyone needs is the reason to fight.

2. So called debates sure need scapegoats. Now in all probability whenever the two warring sides fight each other, they have to substantiate their claims with example. And here Comes Bihar in almost all examples cited, whether it buttress theirs claim or not. It’s like master answer that will go in any debate answers. This Sucks

3. It some times seems that (shared by some bloggers) the TOI gives that blogs spaces in theirs main page which has the possibility to ignite passions. In which there can be two poles. The main reason of this seems to increase the hit-counts and consequently the popularity of the site.

4. Some times we see the comments of the foreigners and they too look appalled. What image are we portraying to them? We are too hollow divided from within that we don’t need an outside enemy to vanquish us.

The Immediate thing that brought this to my notice was the responses the author got in his blog, mentioned above. In fact author removed everything that he wrote in his entire blog. The blog was simply about the incident of some rioting during the funeral of Dr. Rajkumar the Great Kannadiga Actor. The only thing that the author questioned was why did he add Dr. to his name when he got an Honorary Phd. Now the things were heightened by the fact that TOI had its link on its main page. Soon the fight erupted between the readers and snowballed into North Vs South.

No one was far in mudslinging and calling names in all ways possible. Many even demanded that South should be made independent. So that it can reach the developed tag soon, only because of the North they are so lagging. There were sensible comments too but they were being hijacked by the rogue elements. After all till when one can keep ones cool. The author removed his post and wrote something about it. That he didn’t like his blog being public akhara and all fighting against their fellow Indians. But it wasn’t going to stop and again the same bickering started. Finally he removed his blog completely without the provisions of commenting.

Thus Toi had its first victim. Really it pains to see the fellow brethren to fight online which gives anonymity. Hopefully, maybe as one said, because of the online thing, one can vent theirs anger, without physically injuring some one. Maybe that’s better.

DA-IICT ... no description required

  DA-IICT ... no description required
Originally uploaded by Yatin Sethi.
Ours College Logo
Should One Be relied
on reliance.........

Reservations Uncalled For

What does the central government wishes to do is beyond comprehension. They have proposed to add reservation of OBC in centrally funded institutions. Thus, making the total reservation, to 49.5%. Now what bothers me most is that Manmohan Singh government has done it out of the blue, when there wasn’t any demand for this. This is a total appeasement policy Reservations were meant to be abolished after 50 years of independence. Now more avenues are being searched including the reservation in private jobs as well.

Amidst this what is being expected of the general students apart from angst anguish and hatred against the people who got reservation. These politicians are hell bent on creating the rift between the persons of different categories. Now there are many people from upper caste who don’t have the means. While the benefit of reservation is going to only the people who have already availed them. Why do they need reservation when they entered a professional college and also when they need jobs? They are the multiple beneficiaries. Why not there be a policy of once in a lifetime usage of reservation. I am sure that this will help the wider populace of the reserved category people.

But then what will happen to the vote-bank of the politicians. So it’s never going to be implemented and hence so much of this. Congress was doing so well in itself and now it has done blunders for such petty gains in state elections. It’s just that one feels alien to in one own country, just because he is from upper caste. It’s much more equality in USA where I don’t think that there is such a policy. Now every bright Indian has much more opportunity in foreign land than theirs own homeland.

Maybe we aren’t getting the inner meaning of the policy right. By legislating this they wish to make more NRI’s which then bring the green bills back to their so called homeland which provided such laws that one was forced to study and work abroad.

What is life: Does one have a control over it?

I haven’t found out the answer as of now. Another question that bugged me since childhood has been that, who am I? Am I the person who owns this body or much more? Why am I doing this and not that? Maybe the questions aren’t clear to me as it was then. Ok, many people will be saying that you are being philosophical and search for a spiritual guru. May be someday I will search for him too. But as of now I wish that I had some easy lucid fast convincing answers. Just like the scientific queries. Irrefutable logics is what I am asking for now. May be I am asking too much. But then I would love to have that Brahm gyaan.

May be I am deviating from the topic title but I think that all things are interrelated if one looks closely. But the thing that inspired me to post was a simple drudgery of life. Is one life one’s own. Why that one is has to run the rat race. Why one has to even if he doesn’t want to.

I wanted a real free life away from the pressures that you should do this and not that. I wished to join some Ashram when I was young, wasn’t allowed (maybe it was right for me from my parent’s perspective). I wanted to do farming so that I don’t have to run rat race. I always imagined what a life would have been at the iron-age civilization. I know that it would have been tough to survive. Diseases epidemics, predators etc, but worth a try just imagine! Leave difficulties alone for a moment what was a life gathering food and lying just under the sun. Quite close to monkey’s lives.

I know that there is also a race of mating, food. But then I would trade sex any day with a life without strings. May be you will say that I am being an escapist. May be, I am, but then maybe not. I just want to live a life where I don’t have to prove myself every time. I want to be as natural as I am, always. Way away from external influences.

What I think that I a looking for a life in which you have no responsibilities. Be it as a father, brother, friend or son. Every time I wish to do something out of the world and have real intention in doing so. Either I am directly stopped or now being considered grown up is more often emotionally black-mailed. I think that right now it’s only my parents whom I am answerable to. And even them I am not able to break fee. Later in life the bonds will be more rigid. How will I be able to break free then? Seems that I will have to do it sooner or stop worrying on that count. I want to lead a life of anonymity. And not be judged from what I have achieved materialistically. Do not try to judge me every time. Don’t expect me to follow what all people. In short I don’t want to be conformist.

Maybe you all will be thinking that what rubbish I have written above. So be it, I can’t help it. In starting I have written the questions aren’t clear to me and so have to forget the answer. This was the closest that I could get closest to my dilemma. So if you don’t get it don’t ponder much, I am still trying to figure it out. It’s written just for the sake that whenever I re-read this post some points may get clearer, to me, in due course of time.

Orkut: I didn’t know it was such a powerful communicating medium.

With the growth of internet and facilities of two way views it has become quite an good place to debate upon. Pakistan and India have good numbers of users there roughly 2.5% of the entire public (considerably large considering that Brazil has around 70% population.

Citing the demographic percentage was for the insurance that both countries are equally represented. And as will be expected there are two main communities doing the round which is important for me as an Indian first and Hindu next.

Now what really caught my attention were the three topics which most of us are ignorant about or want to know more about it. I spent entire day in reading them. They being

India and Pakistan.

Muslims and Hindus

Indian Muslims and India.

I really was spell bounded by what an average person’s opinion was on the subject. There were two terrific communities which had quite a good participation (Not withstanding few assholes.). Are ……..

1. http://www.orkut.com/Community.aspx?cmm=18389 (International relations)

2. http://www.orkut.com/Community.aspx?cmm=687469 (Indian Muslims)

The above communities aren’t the usual hate groups that are in plenty. They are the most genuine and most active. Which, I will, further edit in due course of time. I shall definitely post some summary or things that influenced my outlook regarding the same.

Just one thing that I will add to here about the Muslim & Hindu populace (Indian ones) is from good socio-economic background, keeping the fact that they are using net in forums. So theirs view May not in entirety represent all the people (It will not even be 0.1% of the entire population). So the links while reading them one had to keep that in mind that they are the elitist club and not the views of entire community. Discretion is required. But for the first topic I think we can assume that it was a reasonable reflection of thoughts of the parties concerned.

Google vs Msn vs Yahoo ….. Search Engines

I won’t go into the fancy stuffs like number of pages searched or for that matter time taken for the given search. After all what will micro-seconds loss do to me!!

I will start with a general observation of mine which I felt right after I started blogging on wordpress site. Just for the sake of fun I searched my link at Google (after couple of hours). Lo and behold, the link was there in the search. Just two hours and no publicity but it was still there. So its indexing of new site generation was quite fast.

Later I started the search with Msn search but it didn’t show up. But after a day the results were there. One thing that struck me was that the results were more comprehensive than Google. So Mr. Gates pumping of money is doing some wonders.

Last coming up to another giant, Yahoo. It didn’t showed the results that day. Not even after that day. The story that the search result isn’t there now too. Seems that acquisitions of overture haven’t done much wonders. But then its search capabilities are quite recent. One thing that came from yahoo usage from previous usage is that it has huge space for indexing. It’s display of the things that are in its index are quite huge. More than the other two. May be because of redundancy.

What i best liked about google was the fast way in which it indexes new pages. I am sure that it's google only which can index the whole of net's data. At present no one has that might and will. Clearly Google is a winner. It’s search capabilities indexing are quite fast and not to mention to remove the redundancy faster too. Msn has leaped by leaps and bounds too. Yahoo isn’t that far. May be it just needs some time. Google will have to be constantly on its toes. But then why am I saying this. Google has always wowed us and delivered more than the consumer expected. Gmail is a classic example how it downed all the established email providers. The thing that yahoo couldn’t replicate in search platform.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://shekharshwetank.blogspot.com/2006/03/google-vs-msn-vs-yahoo-search-engines.html' title='Google vs Msn vs Yahoo …..
As usual I had multiple wakeup alarm on mobile. Anyways got up and fast tried to get ready for the 7:07 train from Koperkhairaine. Just on time reached there and got into the train. It was the first experience of Mumbai local train. Being the Sunday and curfew there wasn’t a great rush. Anyways I had to change 3 trains to get to Vidyavihar. And there was usual great rush at Kurla. But I was saved because of my ignorance as I was sitting on first class compartment.

One more thing that I had heard about Mumbaites was they don’t give you any time and they are at great rush. But I never faced such thing. Whenever I asked for the directions they gave me (which was in plenty). It was just like any other place. Maybe I was lucky but I would prefer to consider it otherwise.

From Kurla to Vidyavihar, I met Arpil and then we reached the campus together. There at KJSOM they showed the presentation for the college. Such a huge college amidst the Mumbai main area is quite an achievement. Anyways the group was divided after verification of the documents. The case study was quite boring. One sided case and no one had to say something against the case. In PI me a lady and a gents. She was quite affable and I think that it was quite ok. Thereafter I had lunch. After asking couple of local students decided to go for India gate and then for Juhu beach cahupati.

Got a train till Victoria Terminus (VT). Really the look is like that of Victorian age. The railway station the police headquarters and all other offices or shops in the vicinity wore the look of the ancient times. Great grandeur. It somehow reminded me of the Delhi structures, but they are quite different that’s Mughals and this one is quite recent and quite European.

Taking directions I went to the Gateway of India. Gosh how much dirty the ocean water is there!! I had been there once more with my parents and stayed for quite a small time. This time all the time was mine and my train was at 10:00 pm. And now it was only 1:00 am. Got all the time to kill. Went there and tapa and naapa the foreign maal. Due to heat Arpil wanted to return to pune. I stayed there. Saw the people from different walks of life going for boating towards Elephanta caves which is 9 km from there on boat. Later on the park was opened and I was quite tired and slept and rested there for an hour. Then at around 6, I thought that I will utilize the time and see Juhu and Chaupati in the meanwhile.

I asked for directions and the person asked me to go to Santa-cruz. Whether it was my way of asking or what I believe that I was given a wrong direction. Reaching Santa-cruz was so late that I decided to return to Central. So went there. It was like Mumbai-darshan with bus. Saw many things from bus. I think that I traversed a lot there. Later on got to train and having a reserved journey had a good night sleep. Meanwhile I had a chance encounter with the Isro guy at train.

Teesri Aankh……… Casting Couch

Jab samay kharab hota hai to log yeh dekhte hain.

Yesterday went to rajshree for taxi no 9211 but watched the teesri aankh instead (gosh the timing was changed). What a chutiap movie. Why they make such jhatu movie, all the hot chicks and no story. Guess for the conversion of black money to white and obviously to bed the chicks that they have given the break. No other plausible reasons.

And guess what sunny deol was 1.5 hrs in the movie out of 2 hrs and in the end, when the credit rolls it shows that “thank you sunny deol for guest appearance” . It sure seems that he was also tricked. Sure the 5 min fight sequence was extended to half hour. By the looks of it, it definitely was that sunny shot for couple of days or so.

Baap re baap …. What’s that teesri aankh, the thing that they preached that not to line maaro gals and just that they showed on the film all skins. Just like a pondi movie which the censor board would allow. No stories like they have in English porns.Just the case here was different that it had sunny, ameesha and other high profile actors. They sure had been duped like some guest appearance thing and the producer made a full fledged movie out of it.

Really a novel idea to make a film with less money, when one has good contact with the film industry. It was just made for the continuity of casting couch, giving the new faces so called break…………………..

Indian Idol. Farha & Nigam & TRASH……

What is this crap about bhagya and talent?

Public are well informed and they made a decision to oust a candidate and format for the show says so. And kicking of some one that was the judge’s favuorite doesn’t give them that it all happened because of the luck factor. Public opinion is not luck it’s an well informed decision when the sample size is so big (apart from regional bias. The Mumbai man loosing was more eye-opening because traditionally they have supported their own men and been the largest contributor. But this time all India was united and so Mumbaikar’s should understand that there is more of India apart from the mumbai, which is the entertainment hub. Anu malik had accepted the verdict later on the so called respected judge (read Sonu Nigam) thinks that he isn’t ready to digest the public verdict. And he on his own behalf says that all the judges are not ready? What the hell is going on? When you can’t accept the verdict why include that in the format.

Farha and sonu nigam were never fit for judgment. They are just so brazen. I have watched this for the first time and have seen the brazen manner in which they are saying things about the contestants. Judges ko decent hone ko mangta hai yaar. Not every tom dick and Harry can become a judge. One needs to be well versed (not opinionated) in his field to be able to get that coveted chair. Just that you are well known in industry doesn’t mean that you are fit for passing judgment (in your own word’s (Industry is full of kawa’s who are having moti’s).It’s connection luck talent, in that order. that counts now a days.

Look at the way when a batsman gives little bit of dissent they are fined. And here judges are walking out of the podium. They must also be reprimanded. They are not the crowd who can do anything. It’s a bad precedent. Maybe that is for the TRP’s but then it’s how far can one go for this kind of cheap publicity. Never ever they showed a sympathy with the one whom they were repeatedly kicking out of the show. And now behaving like some spoilt child. It must stop here. Bringing Shahrukh Khan as a judge(even if he is the KING) would also amount as tantamount to injustice. The reason being that being successful doesn’t bring that eye’s of a connoisseur (though I have complete faith in him after watching coffee with Karan). Bringing analogy with cricket match the coach or the umpires or the captains aren’t the best player. They are the one who have the understanding of the finer points of their trade. Being successful doesn’t give you that.

Last time Abhijeet Sawant won because of the Mumbai crowd sms support and Sana lost out. Then where are yours judgment. If majority public thinks that one particular person is better, then that’s the end of the story. After all it’s them who have to listen and they make common man star.

Meanwhile amay’s response was quite mature and hat’s of to him.It all made me remember the Sunil Pal’s satire on them at GILC.See the judges Shekhar Suman & Sidhu. They are so dignified even when there is an adult joke is going on. They are the perfect example. Many contestants mould themselves after the feedback. It’s high time that the judges heed to this one.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://shekharshwetank.blogspot.com/2006/03/indian-idol-farha-nigam-trash.html' title='Indian Idol. Junior appeasement is lot like minority appeasement. Minor skirmishes are a way of life. That too an engineering life is a void without it. I am not saying that give the seniors a free hand but don’t be biased against them so much that an apartheid feeling sinks in.

First of all i will give the objective details of what happened at our college annual-cum-cultural-cum-technical festival on February.

“It all happened the night of Rampage which gave the reason for them to fight.
After all it’s the legacy of synapse to have some kinda panga and i was bit disappointed that this time the event will be eventless. Nevertheless bless those souls who kept the flames alive.
It all started as I heard. It was when certain junior boys commented on the 2003 girl. Boys who were close to that girl, to show their macho image (which was badly bruised by me at ragging and etc), thrashed the junior boys. Now the next day the bf of the girl to show how much he cares again thrashed the guys. Batch unity came in 2004 and they made the 2003 guys apologize and during that time they hooted and overdid it. 2003 ppl on the cloak of sorting things out thrashed the juniors again. Meanwhile I must add that all thrashing were nominal and not like those witnessed on a typical engineering college(No hockey sticks etc). That was the end. The 2003 batch took the cue from 2002 batch but one miscalculation was that they didn’t factor in the Chetan Parikh (Gariboon ka messiah). He deserves the complete blog for himself. Coupled with junior pressure, same batch treachery, Chetan Parikh they were thrown out of the college hostel and fine for another semester.”

It isn’t the first time that anyone has been kicked. But mainly it was on account of boozing and once or twice on thrashing. It has become a norm with the advent of Chetan Parikh and Lenin (warden). In fact no one was ever expelled. Earlier the life was so cool. If they had been at the helm of in charge, then half of the 2001 batch would have been out of the hostel. And I would have been expelled on at least three accounts. What does the faculty want to prove with this? That they are the supreme commander. They have made the life as like a school boarding. Peeping on the rooms who are smoking, who is boozing etc. Come on grow up man. Checking is done so that all these things are done not in open, not to stop them completely.

The over-protectionism of the junior batches has led to the kind of batch divide. Really I do feel that these sorts of things bring batches closer if not overdone. Let them sort the thing themselves. It brings a sense of responsibility. Comparing all the seniors with the same parameters is bound to bring frustration. Many students who were expelled must have been innocent also. Who knows? More ever punishing only seniors because they are elder isn’t okay. Also a sign of warning to those juniors that not ever let yours blood boy on anything no matter how close the matter is close to yours heart, because history repeats itself. And it has already repeated in 5 yrs of college existence already.

We were the most cohesive with our seniors (2001 batch), because we had numerous fights amongst ourselves. Then with 2003 batch courtesy all those ragging and other fun stuffs. Now the bond is getting weaker and weaker in subsequent batches. No body cares. Seeing them daily and not acknowledging them. That’s what chetan has taught the juniors. But one thing they are forgetting that it’s the alumni which are going to help them when they are out of the college. So don’t go that far that the bonds never mature.

May the good sense prevail and harmless interaction continues between batches. What I intended to say was that policing is good but marshal law isn’t.

Why I want A Developed Bihar ……..

I want to return to my roots.

Seeing the current scenario in which our CM Nitish Kumar went all out to woo investors and Central Government.(I sincerely Hope That he Succeeds).

I don’t want to be seen as nomad travelling from one state to another having no home.I want to be able to work and earn respectfully at my home state along with all my child hood friends, who now might have become a paan shop owner or a Khataal-Waala.I am a social animal and i too wish to have my relatives living near to me.Like I see my friends from gujarat. I am an engineerig college student in ahmedabad(Da-iict). and i was very keen to have a bike completely for myself.
after waiting(or rather persuading parents) for 2 years i finally got the green signal to buy a bike. But there was a catch. i wanted Big muscular bikes (while my parents secretly wanted me to have a LUNAinstead.Reason being that it was of less c.c. and thus less accident prone. So they put a ceiling for the bike around Rs 42,000
So that i could have had no bigger muscular bikes.

During this I along my friends tried to get through the problem.Needless to say that there was no solution in sight except for going a second hand bike(which i didn’t like...Hmmm cummon....i amm in college...).

we did everything from garage to friends to foes to stranger to net to reviews everything to get round my dilema. After doing everythig i made my mind for Bajaj CT-100 halfheartedly.Atleast it had better power than splendor and had decent looks too.

Next day i went to the showroom with my roomie and asked to show ct-100. they just simly showed a bike parked abongst the other inconsequental bikes. My heart rebelled and said,’’After so many years of waiting you are gonna ride this bike....? and u just simply forget the chicks.’’.that was enough for me. i couldn’t bear it and just ran from that place vouching that i won’t buy that bike. i will do well with my Bicycle. But then my friends who were eager for the Bike-ride again persuaded me that given the circumstances it was the best bet. well i also thought so be it. i will definitely buy this bike tomorrow.

meantime in the night while i was surfing that i saw a news that bajaj was discontinuing wind and caliber-115. on further searching on that i found that bajaj were working on project ’’k-60’’ and was going it to name it DISCOVER and going to launch in selest cities.
i also gave a bird eye view on it on the autocarindia site and came throught the whopping power at unbeatable price(there was no mention on the price). i just thought that it was beyond my Price-brackett and didn’t give much thought to that.

next day i went to the bajaj dealer and gave him all cash(Believe me i gave him all CASH) and said that i want a black CT-100(i never had bought a big thing alone just went there as i used to buy a TOOTHPASTE).The sales man gave me an incredulous look. I thought that it is because of the cash that he is giving me that look.I said that what happened ........Gimme the bike and do the paperwork fast and make sure that i want that black colored bike.
Slaesman gave me a hard look and said,’’sir, forget the black color we are having the wait period of at least 2-week on this bike.......... Know it was my turn to give him a blank look.I thought that ok boy ..........urs luck is up. now just wait for that fu**ing
bike for 2 days what a shame... !!. Just as i turned to go away to the yamaha showroom to buy some bike(i had made my mind that day to buy a bike). Suddenly i saw a bike next to ct-100 with major part covered with the gunnybag and thermocol. but it seemed somewhat bigger.’’what’s that’’ I said ’’besides that bike?’’

As by now u might have guessed that ,that bike was a DISCOVER........My Discover.

Epilogue
Salesman told me that the 3 bikes have just arrived an hour ago for promotion etc. i enquired about the price and he said that he doesn’t know. i was about to leave but somehing inside me said that feebly i should know the price on my further probbing and more than that my earnestness moved the salesman. after half an hour of intensive enquiry he quoted me the price and lo and behold, it was within the ceiling.
I just had had my first bike and i was proud owner of it.
........................................................................................................................................

Later on i saw many reviews and other things about the bike. some good some bad. Super-splendor and glamour added like a flame to the fire.

But now i want to set some records straight.
1........My bike gives average of around 60kmpl
2........Looks are superb
3........Power and pickup matches the Pulsor.
4........Comfortable ride.
5........Gear change produces sound
6........Not very smooth engine noise.

Don’t go on other reviews.Just give the above things a consideration. and if this suits urs needs then don’t tjink just get it.

I being in college have ridden all sort of bikes from Rx-100 ,Cbz,splendor, freedom pulsar, bullet to enfield and like my bike.other bike owners have also aprreciated the performance. It;s All Truth no tall claims

PS:My roomie now owns a Super-Splendor. and he too likes my Bike over his,not only on style front but possibly on any other conceivable parameter..

Shwetank shekhar

CRUSH

I am writing this topic after going through a blog which said that the person also
had the similar crushes on the celluloid personality.I think that (i Dunno About ladies)
all guys go through the similar experinces in their childhood.
i would like to add that at that time i didn't knew what exactly crush was? Just whereever i have used the word crush... construe it as my desire to like the person and be liked by that person in return(it was innocent and no physical desires involved).

Myself also had a crush ..................... no..no... Many Crushes.
well as far as i remember i had my first crush on MARIE PIERCE.
Many people will say that what a crush you had..... When the auction closed on Monday, the teens learned the winning bidder — a St. Joseph resident — had offered a mere $246.50 for their services.

"I'm kind of disappointed, but it's money," said Chris Pullen, 19, of St. Joseph. "I think it was exciting while it lasted. But it's still money, nothing to be disheartened about."

Pullen said fellow Central High School graduate Chip Davis suggested the idea.

"I was like, 'Dude, that's tight,'" Pullen recalled of his reaction.

Under the heading "Buy us for one week to do those tedious tasks you hate!" the teens posted their pictures on eBay with a minimum bid of $1. Bidding began on July 29.

While the auction was under way, friends asked the teenagers if they worried about who would win their services.

"I didn't care who won," Davis said, "as long as we didn't have to clean someone's sewers or something. That wouldn't be too exciting for a whole week."

But the teens' enthusiasm waned as days passed with no new bids.

"It wasn't too terribly exciting since the winning bid was made four or five days ago," Davis said. "It was anticlimactic at the end."

Davis has e-mailed the teens' future boss, but the details of the work arrangement haven't been reached. Because the teens are headed off to the University of Missouri this weekend, the work week might be split up into seven one-day sessions.

"I don't think I'll do it again," Davis said of the experience.
...................................................................................................................
...................................................................................................................

well here the teenagers had the mind to say that they won't do it again.........
BUT what if other start selling not their time but others ................... getting a step ahead they can offer more wideer commodities or maybe services .................eyes ears.kidney......................etc
not of their own bodies but that of...........
