Orkut: I didn’t know it was such a powerful communicating medium.

With the growth of internet and facilities of two way views it has become quite an good place to debate upon. Pakistan and India have good numbers of users there roughly 2.5% of the entire public (considerably large considering that Brazil has around 70% population.

Citing the demographic percentage was for the insurance that both countries are equally represented. And as will be expected there are two main communities doing the round which is important for me as an Indian first and Hindu next.

Now what really caught my attention were the three topics which most of us are ignorant about or want to know more about it. I spent entire day in reading them. They being

  1. India and Pakistan.
  2. Muslims and Hindus
  3. Indian Muslims and India.

I really was spell bounded by what an average person’s opinion was on the subject. There were two terrific communities which had quite a good participation (Not withstanding few assholes.). Are ……..

1. http://www.orkut.com/Community.aspx?cmm=18389 (International relations)

2. http://www.orkut.com/Community.aspx?cmm=687469 (Indian Muslims)

The above communities aren’t the usual hate groups that are in plenty. They are the most genuine and most active. Which, I will, further edit in due course of time. I shall definitely post some summary or things that influenced my outlook regarding the same.

Just one thing that I will add to here about the Muslim & Hindu populace (Indian ones) is from good socio-economic background, keeping the fact that they are using net in forums. So theirs view May not in entirety represent all the people (It will not even be 0.1% of the entire population). So the links while reading them one had to keep that in mind that they are the elitist club and not the views of entire community. Discretion is required. But for the first topic I think we can assume that it was a reasonable reflection of thoughts of the parties concerned.
